Sunny Days

Today is one of the those beautiful sunny days that may linger in our memories :-)   I am at home all day today, HG's job means that he can come home for lunch and we were all able to sit in the garden together for an hour and relax in the shade.

Only a short while ago I posted this same corner of our garden, taken from indoors, looking out, on a rainy day.   I said that we hoped to sit here one fine day and today it is actually warm enough to do just that :-)

The canes are in place for the sweet peas (still only approx 6" high) and the hanging baskets are in place.   I would post more pics but have a message that I have exceeded my limit!    Time to delete unwanted entries or may be make other plans?   I need to think about this!  I guess that, as I started this blog in September 2006, I have done quite well :-)
The strawberry pots have been moved onto the table as our only ripe berry so far this year was eaten by slugs!   This seems the most eco friendly way to discourage them, although I know they may well climb up and abseil back down this evening!
We can always eat choc ice lollies :-)

My neighbour Roger is having considerable success in deterring snails by placing used coffee grounds round the base of his pots. Worth a try?

Dear Chris, How marvellous to be able to take time to relax together in the garden. In Budapest, I am fortunate to be able to eat outside often - something I miss when in London. Chilled Gazpacho with a glass of Hungarian fizz [£3 per bottle]on a warm summer evening is the order of most days.

I do hope that you have better luck with your strawberries.

I didn't realize that there was a limit on posts although I guess that makes sense... with all that I put up, I'll probably be in trouble with that in no time... perhaps that's why some folks have more than one blog? Hmm... Glad you are able to be outside and enjoying your gardens... Larry

I reached my limit a short time ago as I'm always putting pix on. I paid £3.98 which I didn't think was bad and can now keep posting photos. Nice pic of HG hidden behind the pot! Could say something naughty but I won't!!!

I exceeded my limit of posting photos a few months ago, but it's simple and cheap enough to buy more storage space from Google(Picaso.

The warm and sunny weather (which we besides have now too...finally!) hinder the snails to come out and eat my strawberries too! It's wonderful to relax outside for lunch and I wish you a lot more of these sunny days. Hopefully you'll find a solution to go on showing your beautiful pictures.
Summergreetings,
Barbara

Hi Chris,
So happy you were able to be outside in the garden. Too hot here to do any thing outside....ice pops would melt in a minute.
I remember your first posts....look at you now! You have done wonderfully.
I thought of you last night when I was walking and the Full Flower Moon was rising. I always think of you at Full Moon.
Happy summer,
Sherry

The heat is on here in MI. we have been in the mid 90's for the past several days. Thank heavens for our big shade trees and our pool. My husband was worried I would run out of room with blogger and a year or so ago for 10$ a year purchased our own domain- thus we are conelyfamilycedarsprings.com I do about 110-120 posts a year all with lots of pictures and so far so good.
