Scarlet Lily Beetles

Not all is rosy in our garden.
This morning I noticed that our lilies, one in particular, has been attacked. This is the culprit - A Scarlet Lily Beetle
In fact there was more than one.
I found these two and then two more doing their best to multiply!
It is difficult to know what to do when you have made a decision never to use poisons in the garden.
They have been removed and I will have to keep a close eye for the next generation. With so many birds I wonder if they have a natural predator?

I know keeping a watch ids the best.
Can you pick off or spray with water?
Hope they did not do too much damage.
Like you I wonder where are the birds? These beetles look tasty!

I don't think I've ever heard of those beetles. Hope you get them under control.

Hi, I've only just found your blog and it looks very interesting, I too took the decision not to use chemicals in my garden and it is certainly challenging to say the least! Slugs and snails are the biggest problem for me although the birds and frogs etc. are doing their best to help.
