Pond Life, & Bees

We managed to spend some time in the garden today. The pond is brimming with life. The wire netting at the edge has worked so far and our much of the frogspawn survived. In previous years we lost most of it to other wildlife - unbelievably we learnt that foxes eat frogspawn as do herons!
Look at this beautiful little newt. Our first froglet :-)
(Well the first one seen anyway)

And the bees are everywhere!

Quite frankly I find this one a little bit freaky but I do like them in the garden :-)

Tomorrow I have to get down to the weeding!
Thanks to HG for the pond dipping :-)

What lovely creatures! Congratulations on the bee photo, I took dozens (well, more than that!) the other day and there were none as good as yours, most were deleted in fact!

Wow, your photography of the miniature wildlife is amazing. You really got up close and personal with that bee. Either you have great timing or great patience ;-)
