Yesterday I read a comment on a blog from someone who said they were fed up with the Brits complaining about the rain. In our defence, well my own any way, its not so much the rain but the grey skies, the continual dampness and the lack of sunshine! But hey, we all need to have a moan sometimes and then we smile and get on with it :-)
It hasn't rained here today but you can see the droplets of water on the moss bed that should be our lawn :-) And of course we are lucky! We have not been flooded out of our home!
But spring is on its way :-)
But spring is on its way :-)These little bulbs are our Tete a Tete daffodils under the Magnolia Tree.
And here are our larger old fashioned daffodils whose buds were eaten by slugs last year. This year I am keeping a closer eye on them!
My favourite Japanese Anemones have new growth :-)
And the Lavender that I cut back so harshly has new shoots; although I am worried it may not flower this year.
Just as well I planted new Lavender along the path!
I do believe these are another favourite of mine - Bluebells!
No - its not a puddle - its our pond :-)
And look who is hiding amongst the mass of overgrown pond plants :-)
Whoops :-) its a bogof - buy one get one free :-) or two for the price of one!
Wrap up, stay warm, stay dry! And have a great weekend!

Too much of any weather is no good. I'll not criticize anyone for complaining about too much rain. I love your frog pics - those frogs are so cute!
Great to see the signs of life appearing in the garden once more - even Brittany isn't exempt from all the terrible weather, but I must admit I think the UK have had it the worst.

Awwww. You know me loves me frogs :o) Sweet photo!
Rain is good. But I agree with you, grey skies get old. You have a lot of life going on around you, Chris. A little sun will do wonders!
Oh how I love spring ,the new growth on the trees and plants, lots of lovely colourful bulbs to brighten our days!Your pond reminds me of the one myself and the girls built at our old house,we loved listening to the frogs and kept alook out for the first sign of the frog spawn,we will just have to build a new one when we move,Iloved sitting by the pond with a cuppa just taking in the sounds and smells of early morning with a hot cuppa and listening to the birds and the farmer taking the cows in for milking! All before everyone else stirred!Just heaven!love from Kathyann and the girls
Hi Chris
Lovely pics - especially of the frogs :-} Lucky you!! Will I ever get that pond ?? I am enjoying your wonderful flickr photos - great addition to your blog :-}
Hope you are having a great weekend.
I just popped over from Mr McGregor's Daughter blog. I don't mind if you whine about your weather. Sometimes it makes you feel better about what is going on out of your control. A day of sunshine will lift your spirits.
We have the sun here today but we also have single digit number cold.
Not a good trade off.
Love your frogs. I don't have a pond and wish that I did. Maybe some day.
Cheers...
We have a little pond, but unfortunately not a frog ;-( !! I like the picture of this little frog prince!!!BTW, we mostly had quite good weather when staying in England. And I was staying there several times for several months when being young!!
Love all the green in this post as we
put up with freezing temps..but no snow!! Love the froggies!! hugs NG
Dear Chris,
It is wonderful to see so much new growth! Spring is coming to your gardens so early. I still have bitter cold and snow. More is coming too tomorrow.
"Fiddle sticks" to whoever thinks it is not okay to be wanting a bit of sunshine. It is your journal and you get to write whatever you want! I love your photos.
You have "taken" to your new camera. Soon you will have daffodiles. Wow! That will be fun to see.
Having tea together was so very fun. Thank you.
Stay warm and dry. May you have some sunshine!
Will you be growing in the allotment this coming season?
Sherry
It is sleeting heavily as I type, Chris, so I can imagine how the rain is annoying when it's so persistent at times.
What a beautiful garden you have with lots of signs of the oncoming Spring. We are 225 metres above sea-level in an open and winswept landscape, so our bulbs are only about once inch above the ground so far.
Happy gardening in 2008 :)
Just found your blog when I was over at Sheila's. Nice photos and wonderful signs of spring!
Donna :)
Thank you for a glimpse of Spring, Chris!
